Introduction

Belmont FC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people involved in our club. We recognize our responsibility to create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for all participants.

 

 

Our Commitment

  • Ensuring that the welfare of children is paramount in all activities.

  • Providing a safe environment for children to learn and develop.

  • Preventing the abuse of children and young people.

  • Ensuring all staff, volunteers, and members are aware of their responsibilities in safeguarding children.

  • Taking prompt and appropriate action if there are concerns about a child’s welfare.

 

 

 

Code of Conduct

All members, staff, and volunteers must:

  • Treat all children and young people with respect.

  • Provide a positive role model for children.

  • Ensure that the welfare of children is put first in all club activities.

  • Refrain from inappropriate physical contact or verbal abuse.

  • Ensure that any form of bullying is not tolerated and is dealt with swiftly and effectively.

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid any form of grooming behaviour.

 

 

Reporting Concerns

All concerns regarding the safety or well-being of a child should be reported immediately. Reports can be made to any of the following designated Child Protection Officers.

 

 

Procedures for Responding to Concerns

  1. Listen: Take the child’s concern seriously and reassure them.

  2. Report: Contact the Designated Safeguarding Officer or Deputy Safeguarding Officer immediately.

  3. Record: Document the concern, including dates, times, witnesses, and any actions taken.

  4. Refer: If necessary, refer the matter to the relevant authorities

 

Recruitment

  • All staff and volunteers will undergo a thorough recruitment process, including background checks and interviews.

  • Safeguarding policies and procedures will be reviewed and updated annually.
